How to Prep for Your Appointment

Cleared cabins let us clean deeper and protect valuables from chemicals or misplacement. Please remove personal items (cupholders, door pockets, seat backs, console, trunk) and child seats you want cleaned separately. A quick pre‑check of trouble spots (stains, scratches) helps us budget time and set expectations, especially for add‑ons like pet hair or sand extraction.

Maintenance Plans & 24‑Hr Rain Follow‑Up

Charleston weather can flip fast. If it rains within 24 hours of your service, request a complimentary exterior touch‑up—we’ll re‑fresh the finish. Staying on a maintenance rhythm matters: monthly or bi‑monthly hand cleaning prevents salt, pollen, and road film from baking in and reduces the need for heavy correction later. Many pros recommend at least twice‑yearly full details; quarterly intervals are ideal for high‑use or harsh‑climate vehicles. Ask about scheduling your plan (shop or mobile).

Car Detailing Service FAQs

What is a detail and how is it any different?

A detail is simply an extensive clean of your vehicle with the goal of cleaning, disinfecting, treating, and maintaining every surface of your vehicle on the interior as well as the exterior.  Most general cleans are thought of to be a light vacuum on the top of your carpet, wet cloth wipe down of your dashboard, and a quick tire shine spray on the tires.

While this does give a general idea of clean, a detail’s goal is to extract the dirt that has been transported to your vehicles carpet from days or months of everyday trekking, remove the stains from spills and general oils in your seats and seatbelts, resolve granulated sugar in your cupholders, remove airborne allergens and particles carried from your clothing into your vehicle, and deodorize the source of various smells that may linger from daily use of your vehicle. A detail is an extensive cleaning that goes well beyond regular maintenance to ensure the overall health of your vehicle’s interior atmosphere.

As for the exterior, your paint needs protection from the elements… mainly the sun.  A detailed exterior will address all of the various types of damage done to your exterior from exposure to excessive sunlight without protection, bugs, rock chips, mineral water from your garden hose or sprinklers, and rain contaminants.  Dirt and brake dust that has distorted the look of your wheels will be addressed to give your vehicle not just the look that it has been cared for, but the necessary materials to protect it until time for your next detail.

How often should I get my car detailed?

If you are maintaining your vehicle regularly with a drive-thru car wash, it is recommended to have your vehicle detailed twice a year.  This is to ensure a thorough clean beyond the surface level for both your interior and exterior.  Also, depending on the method of car wash you currently use, paint correction is likely needed.  Even though it is easier to see certain things like scratches and bird etchings on darker colored vehicles, it is necessary to address these issues on all appearances to maintain the overall health of your vehicles paint.  It doesn’t hurt that it gives it a significant shine as well.

If you’re not currently maintaining your vehicle, then it would serve you well to join our monthly subscription.  This will set a specific time each month for your vehicle to be professionally handwashed, saving you time and effort, as well as unwanted time in the sun.  This regular maintenance not only ensures the health of your vehicle but allows our professionals to keep track of minor changes in your vehicle’s appearance and address them early on.  You can certainly visit our shop, but if convenience is your thing, our appointments can be set at your home or office location and we’ll be right in step with your busy life.

How long does a detail usually take?

In general, you can plan for about 3-4 hours to complete a full detail.  Certain services require more time such as odor removal or removing scratches from the surface.  Prior to beginning work on your vehicle, a quick consultation will go over expectations of your vehicle and an estimated time frame.

What if it rains after I just got my car cleaned?

SRAS offers a free rain day follow-up.  This means if it rains within 24 hours of your details, you’ll receive a complimentary exterior touch up upon request.

Do I need to remove anything prior to getting my vehicle cleaned?

Yes, to ensure the best available clean it is suggested that you remove all personal items from the vehicle.  This includes cupholders, doors, seat backs, center console, and trunk area.  We will not remove any personal items from your vehicle.

Is there an option to set a regularly scheduled cleaning?

Yes, it is easy to set up a monthly or bi-monthly subscription to have your vehicle hand cleaned and maintained.  These services can take place at our shop, or you can take advantage of our mobile option to complete them at your home or office.
